It's about time for a Spring Break.

It's finally Spring Break--my very last one as a college student! It's hard for me to believe that the routine of having winter, summer and spring break was all just comes with the luxury of being a student.

Just to recap on a few things: I am finally done with Winter Quarter. I enjoyed my classes (well 3 of the 4) and was in a little over my head with The Vagina Monologues, Fashion Quarterly, taking 4 classes, working part-time AND not drinking any dark soda! Sometimes I really could have used that sugar caffine kick.

I am ready to take some time to re-group and relax before my final quarter at UCSD. It's truly amazing to look back and think about how much I have learned through my experiences as a college student, but also many of the life lessons I have gained along the way--which I argue is much more valuable than what any professor could have lectured. I have learned so much about myself, my friends (new and old), and my family. Now, it's time for me to work on my tan and hit the GYM!

I am finally uploading photos from my Las Vegas Trip with Andrew. We went for Valentine's Day, our third one together! It was my first time going, and definitely won't be my last!

VDAY Movement & Go Girl!

I've been a little out of touch with my blog lately--mostly because I was casted as the narrator in UCSD's production of The Vagina Monologues (TMV)2010, its 10th Anniversary! TVM is a movement to educate and motivate viewers on the countless acts of sexual violence towards women nationally and internationally.

Each year 200,000 women are raped in the United States.

(but then again this is not even close to the actual number because 200,000 are only REPORTED incidents)

Hundreds of women are raped and never report their story. The Vagina Monologues is a production written by Eve Ensler and is a collage of interviews done with women all over the world about their experience as a female. In hundreds of interviews over the course of thirteen years, Eve combines the real stories of women and their vagina's.

Also my own involvement in VDAY was helped to inspire others to get involved too--I got the wonderful opportunity to work with the fabulous and famous Jennifer Murphy, founder and CEO of Go Girl Worldwide as she donated her priceless time and raffle prizes to the help out the production.

Go Girl Worldwide is also a movement to inspire, educate, motivate and teach women to "take back their life". Go Girl is just that: getting FEMALES to GO out there and be successful, smart, confident and be the best you can be, despite sexual violence, emotional and physical abuse.

March 4th. March forth!

First and foremost--I am absolutely sure that racism will remain in exsistance, regardless of where you live, where you come from or the color of your own skin; people will still be racist.

An article from the campus newspaper:
http://www.ucsdguardian.org/opinion/editorials/look-up-you’re-part-of-the-problem/

It's just like the very stereo-typed UCSD to take what began as an issue and turned it into a monsterous problem that is calling people to wake up and realize that we are all apart of it.
